Auntie Anne’s History
Anne F. Beiler is the founder of Auntie Anne’s restaurant company. The company was founded in 1988, which means that it’s been around for 34 years. They started out in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, in the United States.
Auntie Anne’s slogan is “Hot Original Fresh Hand-Rolled Soft Pretzels.” They sell pretzels, of course, but also dips. The first Auntie Anne’s location was located in Downingtown, Pennsylvania.
When it first opened, there were eight employees that worked there. They opened in the fall, back when it was still balmy – but they knew that eventually, winter would come.
They wanted to make their product warm enough for all seasons. However, they didn’t know how it would do at first. But people loved them! This caused them to open more locations, and soon they were opening more stores at a rate of two to three per month.
Just a few short years later, they were open in ten different states and Washington D.C., and had more than 200 locations worldwide! Today, they have over 1,500 locations all across the world.
The company has been valued at around $1.8 billion dollars. They sell pretzels and dips of course, but also other baked goods such as cookies and fudge brownies!
