One of the popular foods offered on their menu is pizza. They offer a standard cheese or pepperoni pizza but have many others that you can choose from.
Their names are very unique and creative, including “The Great White” which is simply white sauce with garlic olive oil base topped with mozzarella cheese, chicken, bacon, artichoke hearts, spinach, and feta cheese.
If you don’t like the idea of having so many ingredients on your pizza then how about “The Humble Pie?” It is simply cheesed with an olive oil base topped with fresh basil, mozzarella cheese, and feta cheese.
Okay, now how about something that isn’t pizza? They have a great selection of sandwiches for you to choose from including the veggie sandwich which has roasted red peppers, banana peppers, artichoke hearts, lettuce, tomato, and onions.
They also have the original hoagie which includes roast beef, turkey breast, provolone cheese, red onions, lettuce, tomato, and Italian dressing. Sounds delicious; you should give it a try!
Although pizza is what they are known for I don’t think that people realize that they offer appetizers, salads, soups, and calzones too. Their most popular appetizer is their cheesy jalapeno bread which includes melted mozzarella cheese on top of garlic butter brushed dough with bits of spicy jalapenos.
It is served with a side of marinara sauce to dip the bread into. If you’re not in the mood for any of that then you could always have a salad. Some of their most popular salads are the Asian chicken salad, California chopped salad, and Greek salad.

Mellow Mushroom History
Mellow Mushroom Pizza was founded in 1974 in Atlanta, Georgia by Rocky Reeves, Mike Nicholson, and Marc Weinstein. The three friends were looking for a mellower alternative to the typical pizza restaurant.
They quickly gained a following for their inventive pizzas and distinctive atmosphere. Today, Mellow Mushroom is a chain of pizza restaurants with over 150 locations throughout the United States.
The company is still owned and operated by the original founders, and they continue to create unique pizzas and offer a fun, eclectic atmosphere. Mellow Mushroom has a long history in Atlanta, Georgia.
The restaurant was founded here in 1974 by three friends who wanted to offer something different from the typical pizza restaurant. Its name is a throwback to another era when it used to be slang for “stoned” or “high on drugs.”
In 2008, the original founders were inducted into the Georgia Restaurant Association Hall of Fame. In 1979, Mellow Mushroom started selling their famous house favorite pizza dough in bags that customers could take home and bake themselves.
In 1989, they expanded into a manufacturing facility to provide both restaurants and grocery stores with dough for sale. This marked the first time the company had ever had a facility dedicated to producing dough.
In 2011, the company expanded its production capabilities to include more products and opened a restaurant inside their factory.
